The next room on the chopping block is the kitchen, and we can’t wait to show you what we did with it!

Fundamentals!
The view in the original kitchen was lacking, and so we relocated the kitchen to a spot in the house that better faced the farmland and countryside scenery of the property.

We want holidaymakers to really take in all they can from this beautiful property, from every room in the house!
We opted for an open galley style with a long island bench, perfect for entertaining and seating many people!
The space allocated for the kitchen was limited as we wanted to maximise on living and dining areas, and so our team worked hard to perfectly blend function and style to create a stylish, well-integrated, and fully functional kitchen area at roughly half the size of the original kitchen.
We maintained the same high skirting, battening, vinyl flooring, picture boards and light colour scheme to really tie all the rooms together.
The painted-white wooden framing and subsequent built-in cabinetry itself blended beautifully with the white walls and overall colour scheme of the house!
The details!
The white marbled Smartstone benchtops and splashback further tied in with the other features of the kitchen, bringing forth a sense of cohesion that was both classic and modern!
The Smartstone we installed was both durable and easy to clean, and it looked stunning.
It boasted a natural look, and crucially added to the overall functionality of the space.
We steered away from above bench cabinetry so to allow a greater sense of space and openness, instead opting for some homemade open shelving and storage crates (the crates built by us, and the shelves built Ferris himself!).
That way, we would be creating plenty of storage space without cluttering benchtops or overhanging space!
Gold accents on the taps and cabinet handles (once again by the lovely Momo) perfectly compliment the white kitchen, the yellow tones bringing warmth and dreamy vibes to the space!
We also made sure to put in plenty of power outlets both at the kitchen bench as well as the island, perfect for kids as well as creating a collaborative kitchen experience for everyone!
Final touches!
The decorating of a space is what really brings it to life!
We brought in thrifted wooden pieces to tie into the flooring as well as the wooden accents sprinkled around the property, emphasising the country vibe.

The fully functional and usable rustic crockery and 60-piece vintage dinner set inspired by the original house further brought back that classic country charm, bringing the spirit of the old house back to life!
Low maintenance potted botanicals added a natural element to the space, bringing a bit of the outdoors in, accompanied with the gorgeous view to really make you feel at one with the land!
Mr Ferris said that he liked the space, and that we’d done ‘pretty good’.
Now that’s high praise!
Upon completion, this has to be our favourite room so yet!
We did the living and dining areas simultaneously with the kitchen, given the open nature of the space, so stay tuned for our next blog post to watch and read about that!
