On the home stretch!
With most of the interiors done, we’re moving onto the outside, and the potential is massive (but not without a ton of work still to come).

When spending a night up at the farm, a few things come to mind. Calm nights sitting curled up by the fire, a glass of champagne in hand, and the kids running around (or in bed, who knows!).
Either way, a fire pit is an absolute must!
Kicking off the exterior, we transformed an old, unused water tank into just that! Turning that whimsical dream into a reality.

We surrounded the fire pit with tree-stump-seating made from trees that had fallen on the property that we repurposed. This added to the upcycled charming country feel that we worked hard to encapsulate on the interior, really capturing that farm feel!
Onto the house!
With that done, it was time to shift our focus to the exterior of the house, and the first item on the agenda? That back deck.
We worked hard to replace the old, dangerous deck, and the views are stunning!
Large Cotton’s Glass sliding doors ensured being able to look all around the property as well as down the valley from both inside and out, and we cannot wait to share this with our guests!
The rest of the exterior was also in rough shape, requiring a much needed clean, prep, and fresh coat of paint.
Team Ferris helped install all the external architraves, which we elected to go in as simple square profiles using as much timber onsite as possible, before we set to work on this massive paint job.
A white farmhouse is classic; however, we were mindful when selecting a colour for the house as there was indeed a lot of dirt and dust on the property.
Therefore, we went with Taubman’s Snow Drift. The colour worked perfectly as from a distance, it came off as crisp white, but did well to conceal dirt and dust when up close!
For the roof colour, we utilised Bristol Hunter Region’s Coloursmith technology, pulling colour from the river stones on the property to beautifully integrate the house into the land.
We also used this gorgeous colour on the statement front door!

Final touches!
With reno finally out of the way, time for the fun stuff!
Once again, we did a bit of decorating.
Bringing in some thrifted wooden furniture and low maintenance botanicals to the entryway, we bookended the ongoing classic country style, creating a homely, warm space. The perfect first impression of the property.
Preserving our beautiful native environment had always been of high priority to us.
And so, we proudly partnered with Humble Hive Collective for Waukivory Estate to be a share hive location! Starting with just two hives, and hoping to eventually expand, alongside the other gorgeous animals on the property, the farm really shaped up to be the country retreat we hoped for!
This whole experience was surreal, and not without its ups and downs, but we are beyond thrilled with the way it all turned out!
Thinking back on all the hurdles we overcame - termite damage, the trees, remodelling - we could not be more excited to show everyone the finished product!
