How To Revive Your Agapanthus

Styling Tips·Naomi Findlay·May 9, 2025· 1 minute
Hi guys, Naomi Findlay here.   Did you know I have a renovation course? You can check it out here!  Just about everyone in this country has a bed of agapanthuses in their yard - they're the go-to plant! When agapanthuses are young they are gorgeous and stay in their spot. However, as they age they multiply incredibly quickly, start taking up a lot more space and begin to look worse for wear. I have brought in an expert in all things gardens, Aaron from Green Envy, to discuss how to breathe new life into your agapanthus garden bed.

Key Points:

  1. Reconsider the width of your garden bed. Agapanthuses often drain all of the water and nutrients from a narrow garden bed.
  2. Do not transplant agapanthuses during winter or summer. The extreme temperatures during these times of the year put the agapanthus under great stress.
  3. Remove the thatching around the base of the agapanthus. Not removing this can lead to fungal complications.
