The thing I notice with most women (and men for that matter) is that they wish and hope and pray to have a different lifestyle but rarely do they actually decide what that lifestyle would look and what they need to do to bring it to life.
Knowing what you actually want?
When I start working with a new client you can bet when I ask them what do you really want, they really have no idea. The consequences of not knowing what you really want is that you constantly feel like you never get what you want. Think about it!
So you starting point
Grab a piece of paper and create 4 squares with the following titles above each one
- What I’d like to Start Doing
- What I’d like to Stop doing
- What I want to Do more of
- What I want to Do less of
Now go to work, fill in the boxes, if you feel stuck at any point just ask yourself ‘and what else’. This is the basis of working out what you really do and do not want.
Planning for what you want
Now I am all for affirming what you really want ‘secret style’ HOWEVER there has to be some action taken in the direction of what you want. The clarity of asking for it just means that you’ll see the opportunities when they arise and feel like everything is conspiring in your favour. There really is no free ride.
Plan in 90 day cycles
Decide what specifically you want to do in the next 90days and then work backwards allocating specific actions for each week that will allow you to reach your goal.
For every task you place on your plan, there needs to be a corresponding activity placed in your diary for that week, to ensure you have allocated the time to get it done.
Then just get to work.
I have a format I use with my clients. I get them very clear on the 3 goals they want to achieve during our 6 month partnership and then I help them map it into a 90 day plan, and their diary, then we work together every week.
Most people have an idea what they need to do but rarely do they keep up the momentum on their own. WHY because they come up against their own internal dialogue, their reasons and excuses not to do what they say they’re committed to and the beliefs about what they’re capable of and what they feel deep down they truly deserve.
Lack of self belief cruels many a brilliant plan. So if you’re serious about getting your styling business off the ground including a smooth transition from your current career into making money out of your business. Then get a really great coach to work with you.
