Putting a Dream Team Together to Grow Your Business with Paul Lambass

When we do business for a client, we generally sit in a team of trusted advisors around that client. As finance brokers, we also have our own team we work with to ensure our company runs smoothly and efficiently.

You’ll find most successful businesses do.

It’s usual for us to be part of a team that consists of an accountant, solicitor, real estate agent, financial planner, insurance broker and us as finance brokers. A lot of our clients already have some members of this essential team on board – maybe an accountant and a solicitor, but we often see that most people have spots on their team that need to be filled.

And what really jumps out at us is that having ready access to a full team of trusted, great professionals around you goes a long way in building your business and achieving your goals.

Surrounding yourself with good people makes for great success, so I’d encourage you to take a look at your own team. Are they the best of breed? Are there some vacancies there you should fill now, before you actually need them?

What’s great about knowing you have a team is that when the opportunity arises, you’re ready to go. And once you’ve been working together for a while, the trust builds, the synergies build and it all starts to run like a well-oiled machine – quickly and efficiently. And that means you know you can grab whatever opportunity it is that’s come up at you with both hands and go for it, because you have your dream team ready to move and you’re not having to scramble around at the last minute trying to find a great insurance broker or financial planner or whoever it is you need.

So it makes a lot of sense to take a look at your team today and identify those gaps. Who else do you need on the bench to take you, your family and your business to the next level? Think about the professionals you might be needing. Ask yourself – do I have a great X, Y, Z?

Obviously, every profession is different, so you need to evaluate your particular needs, because once you know what’s missing, you can move forward and fill those gaps.

But how to find the right people?

I find the best thing to do is ask those professionals you are already working with who they have done business with. Because they are going to be able to work well with people they not only already have synergies with, but that they have seen work before. There’s nothing better than a warm referral – a recommendation coming from someone you trust.

I want to highlight that because we see a lot of clients that have a couple of professionals around them but don’t have the complete suite to take them to the next level. And what we do notice is that those who have that full team excel and achieve their goals. Their dream team facilitates smoother transactions and the benefits because all they have to do is make a couple of quick phone calls to grab the next opportunity that comes knocking.
