2017 National Home Staging Symposium Review

May 9, 2018 by Naomi

When nearly 200 home stagers just starting out, emerging businesses and thriving substantial home staging businesses get together it is amazing what can happen. This years event was bigger than ever and high high high on energy and the passion of the people in the room.

Some massive take homes from everyone about your mindset to business and your mindset towards money and you body. Huge amounts of content for everyone to take home from an amazing array of speakers on marketing, selling, promoting and much more in your home staging business.

The skills and talents of the guest speakers was mind blowing and their willingness to openly share their talents with our industry community was humbling.

The book signing was a hoot and a super treat for VIP attendees getting my book in their hands before anyone else world wide.

Thanks to all our amazing sponsors and partners that make putting on an event of this calibre possible.

This years event sold out!!! Dates Next year have been locked and loaded and we are heading back to Sydney in July! If you want to be the first to know when tickets will be launched for the 2018 event, click below

First Quarterly Blog Review 2017

June 9, 2017 by Naomi

Each quarter last year we produced a blog ever quarter reviewing the most popular blogs of that quarter. You all loved these recaps so much that we thought we would do it again this year!

Wow! Can you believe we are already in June?

We have also been producing content about home staging that you have all been loving as well!
So, what are your favourite blogs of 2017 so far?

BLOG #1: Business Best Friends

This blog was a hit among all of you home stagers!

In an unregulated industry, it can be extremely difficult to find ‘business best friends’, or even someone else to talk to about what is going on in the industry.

Through this blog, it becomes clear that by ‘business best friend’ we don’t necessarily mean people in the same industry, though. Instead, what we mean are friends in related industries that can help boost your business.

Without giving too much away, some of these ‘business best friends’ are people like entrepreneurs, a legal expert and many more!

BLOG #2: Hanging Art

Image via Pinterest

Art is something that is essential for home stagers. Without art, a home can seem dull and unexciting.

Throughout this blog, we explain the need for art height, how to pick the right room for the art and how different rooms can change how the art looks.

When it comes to hanging art in properties, it is important to remember that there is no set rule for the art height, or what type and style of art should be hung in what space.

This blog is an essential blog for all home stagers to read, especially for home stagers who are beginning to invest in artwork in their business.

BLOG #3: Must-Have Home Staging Stock

Image via Pinterest

You all loved this blog, and for a valid reason too!

As home stagers, there are multiple stages of developing your business. When you start out, you probably won’t have any stock. When your business has started making a small profit, you may start to invest in soft furnishings. When your business has started making a significant profit, you may start to invest in hard furnishings.

It is important to know what sort of furnishings to invest in.

The blog discusses what home staging stock we a must from the beginning, and what stock you should invest in when your business is flourishing.

BLOG #4: 2017 Scholarships – Apply NOW!

Now this is no surprise!

There’s not too much to say about this blog except HOW AWESOME!

We were so excited to announce that this year, we are again offering TWO scholarships for up and coming home stagers.

While the application is closed now, you can still grab your ticket for the 2017 National Home Staging Symposium and develop your home staging skills.

What was your favourite blog in the last quarter?

What else would you like to see on the blog? As home stagers, we aim to produce content that YOU want to know about!

Why You Should Start Your Home Staging Career in 2017

October 17, 2016 by Naomi

Who doesn’t love redecorating their bedroom? Imagine doing that as a career! Homing staging is booming and it’s much more than just redecorating people’s bedrooms. Home staging is all about looking at what’s on trend, designing property aesthetics and staging properties for the market that will sell at the best price possible. So, why should you start your home staging career in 2017?

  •  Home staging is a necessity: once home staging enters an area it will never leave! Gone are the days of poorly tidied homes for sale, full of kids toys and stray dog hairs. Home staging allows you to put the properties best face forward and give potential buyers the best view of what they are buying. Home staging is all about potential and discovering both the properties inner potential and your inner potential.
  • People finally get it: for years’ home stagers have struggled with the question of ‘so what do you do that I can’t do?’ but alas the rest of the world is finally starting to get it. Home staging is more than just what looks good. Home stagers are a mix of real estate analysis and design trends analysis, meeting somewhere in the middle.
  • You don’t have to be trained overseas: the rise in home staging institutions in Australia has meant that up and coming home stagers are learning content that is directly related to what they will experience in Australia.
  • There is a home staging community: because home stagers have set on the bench for so long waiting for their time to shine a strong community has been built on support, successes and failures. Without the Internet home staging would not be as popular as it is now and that is primarily due to home stagers coming together online to share their experiences and design skills.
  • Higher quality performances: more home stagers mean that more people are gaining home staging experience which in turn raises the level of home staging projects. This allows for the entire industry to be seen as its own entity compared to people without any formal accreditation who stage properties for their personal style rather than the needs of the market.

All in all, home staging is on the rise and getting into the industry now is a great opportunity to skyrocket any career.
